Term 1 At London Contemporary Dance School

Wow. Such an amazing first term. It is crazy to think about being finished with first term and about to start second term already.
With Covid, some things looked really different this term but I am BEYOND grateful for all of the experiences and everything that I was able to do despite the world's current situation. Being in London is SO amazing, and I really hope the next two and a half years are just as wonderful. (Hopefully, Covid won't take too much away...)
I could share for ages all of the beautiful things I have learned and experiences I have had over just the past few months, but instead I figured I would just share some of the work I have been able to create.
I am going to start by sharing this project I created in my Critical Studies class this term, looking at our genealogy.
The next project I was able to explore this term which led to something else SO amazing was my annotated bibliography. I chose to explore the techne, Gaga, which originated in Israel and now is a world renown movement practice. I have attached my annotated bibliography below!
And our last project for my Critical Studies class which was an extension to either one of the prior projects, I decided to create my own movement exploration practice to research. It was such a good experience and I learned so much about my mind, body, and movement. Following the project, I aspire to share this practice with other movers around the world. Attached below I have shared my biggest takeaways from the research and the explanation of what the practice is.
Another class I was able to take this semester was Design for Performance, looking at set, lighting, costuming, and other aspects of a production. It was so lovely to explore all of these to create my own potential "production."
