CHOREOGRAPHY

Two bodies meet. In that meeting, every difference each dancer carries onto the stage becomes visible — background, influence, the simple fact of skin. What is made, undone, or revealed when contrast meets contact? Moving to the rhythm of Les Frères Joseph, the piece strips away what we hold as fixed:

The destruction of size. Of heart. Of truth. Of weight and world. Of dharma.

What remains is the recognition that none of us stands alone — we belong to something larger than the self, to the wider community of humanity, to the world we share. Two bodies in contrast, moving toward connection: a single image, scaled outward to us all.

Witnessing four dancers on a journey of become available to ourselves in order to be available others. Looking at psychological, physical, and emotional availability versus the lack thereof, the dancers explore tension versus release, the use of breath, and encountering others, allowing themselves to engage with their own state of freedom or sense of inner peace throughout the piece. 

Despite the Fractures - 

This piece features a group of adults and teenagers exploring the physical formation of a volcano as it creates an island — or many islands. Narratively, it considers isolation and separation against community and its absence: the pain of being cut off, but also the growth that can emerge from destruction. The piece ends on the idea that making the choices right for you individually is what matters most — even when those choices break people apart.

Fault Lines / Aftermath. - ​

A two-part piece for two ensembles. Part I, Fault Lines, opens with an earthquake — the separation and chaos it creates, and the imperative pull toward community in its wake. It is about taking on the weight of those around you, helping each other off the ground when something as large as an earthquake — physical or emotional — brings you down. And it does not shy from the truth that sometimes there is no positive outcome.

Part II, Aftermath, asks what remains after catastrophic destruction — not just to the physical world, but to the relationships and emotional landscape within it. It closes by leaning into what comes next: the necessity of leaning on each other, even in the hardest moments, to find a way through.

Landslide follows young dancers moving through weight and balance — bodies leaning into each other, holding shapes that only work because every piece is bearing its share. The turn is that a landslide isn't failure — it's what leaning eventually asks for. Letting someone go can be the same gesture as having held them. The piece closes on time's indifference: change doesn't wait for anyone to be ready, whether you're swept into the new shape This piece features a group of adults and teenagers exploring the physical formation of a volcano as it creates an island — or many islands. Turn to Stone follows a group of young dancers caught in the quiet urgency of time. An hourglass sits at the center of the piece, a physical reminder that every grain falling through it is a moment we cannot get back. The dancers move through this truth, sometimes racing against it, sometimes trying to still it, learning that real presence with one another is a kind of gift, maybe the most valuable one we have to give. But the piece doesn't shy away from the tension of living in this moment: even when we want to slow down and offer each other our full attention, life keeps its clock running underneath everything, full of deadlines, obligations, and a low hum of rush we can't always escape. Turn to Stone asks what it means to be present anyway, not because the constraints disappear, but because we choose to lean into the experience in front of us, whether it feels like joy, grief, connection, or loss. Time will keep moving regardless. The dance is about choosing not to let it pass unnoticed.
