Me

Megan Bader is a London based dancer, originally from North Carolina, United States. Megan is currently studying at the London Contemporary Dance School, where she will be earning her BA Hons in Contemporary Dance.

 

She is also a ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, and recently graduated from Apex Friendship High School with Summa Cum Laude Honors. Priorly, she was a dance instructor and choreographer at the Academy for the Performing Arts, located in North Carolina. Along with her teaching experience, Megan has additionally worked as a Cafe Manager at the Academy for the Performing Arts and completed an internship under the direction of Hillary Parnell, nationally recognized business owner.

Megan can be described as hardworking, creative, reliable, communicative, and a pleasant person to be around. She is excited to take on any new opportunity to further her career, and the world around her.

A 9 day explorative study of the mind, body, and movement while learning from some of NYC's most knowledgable creators. Seeking personal clarity and connection to our bodies in a community environment working past the confines placed on artists by the industry at times.

Ekilibre Contact Improvisation Workshop

An exploration of contact improvisation and partnering led by Maurice Fraga, Artistic Director of Ekilibre Dance.  An amazing opportunity to work with yourself (body, mind, and spirit), to listen to habits, tendencies, blocks, and aspirations, and give access to new ranges of movements, possibilities, thoughts, and relationships.

Commercial Dance Intensive

A 12 day summer dance intensive that focuses on training and preparing young dancers to enter the commercial dance world. 9am-9pm classes specializing in Various styles, Audition Clinics and Seminars meant to give dancers a head start towards their commercial dance career.

North Carolina-native, based in London, Megan is a performer, choreographer, teacher, and artist. They recently graduated from London Contemporary Dance School with a BA Hons in Contemporary Dance under the direction of Baptiste Bourgougnon, with mentors such as Jason Mabana, Eva Recacha, Chisato Ohno, Jeannie Steele, Arran Green, Aaron Vickers and many more. Megan has recently worked with Ben Wright, Alethia Antonia, James Cousins, and Seke Chimutengwende. 

 

A lifelong dancer, Megan grew up training with the Academy for the Performing Arts in Apex, North Carolina, returning to begin their teaching career at APA as well. Megan started teaching with the hope to share their passion for movement and expression, and has taught in various settings. Most recently, Megan has been teaching for the CYD Program at the Place, primary and secondary schools around the UK, and at the Academy for the Performing Arts. 

 

Megan also is really enjoying their role of Creative Producer for Safe Space by Kira; a mindfulness and artistic brand geared towards children and inclusivity, that recently published it’s first mindfulness children’s book.

 

Megan is beginning a new choreographic work, titled ‘Sunshine Boys’ Spoons are Dirty,’ inspired by psychological, physical, and emotional availability versus the lack thereof, and the process of finding permission to exist. Artistically, Megan is currently interested in connection, relationships, the role of the audience, and accessibility.
